I Love Forms

I love designing forms. I think it has a lot to do with being able to balance good design while still being functional. Everyone in the office has their own distinctive “project sheet” which tracks progress and time on an active project.
On the left is the generic sheet that I have been using and on the right is my redesign. It’s funny that after I designed it, a coworker mentioned that it looked standard and generic! I guess that’s the look I was going for!

    Grafitti Inspirations

Here is a peek into my high school hobbies! Photoshop filters FTW. Oh, the 90’s…

    Dusty Fingers

I’ve been renovating and redecorating my room all day (a whole design process in itself by the way) and naturally there is dust and everywhere. I left my closet mirror on the floor and I didn’t realize how much stuff just ends up on that thing.

I started playing with it and one thing led to the next. (That’s what she said. Sorry.)

    Paper Cut-Out Practice

There is something to be said about the art of hand cutting paper. It calls for a patience and dedication to craft and quality that is exceptionally high. One would ask why people would even bother. We have the machine and processes to make such tasks efficient and less laborious.

If there is anything I’ve learned it’s this.
Like many things in love and in life, doing things faster doesn’t make it better.

I tried my hand at practicing and experimenting with paper cutout. Definitely learned quite a bit from this small process. Here are results. I put some random paper and images behind the cutout to see how it affects the design.

    Spring Giveaway

I’ve been spring cleaning and renovating this past week. I came by hundreds of “stuff” that I’ve made that’s been collecting for years underneath my bed, like little art
monsters (sketches, doodles, painting and prints). I don’t have the heart to throw it out and I don’t have the space to store it soooo I’m looking to just give it out to anyone who is interested in hope that it will at least motivate and inspire. :)

Message me with a shipping address and I’ll ship it out to you for free.

    I <3 Wine

If there is one thing I love about design, it is the creative process which one goes through to. I found some old notes and sketches which eventually lead to the “I Love Wine” print which can be found in work section.

    Wine and Bikes

I’m still training my nose and palette while sharpening my creative mind. A weekend with good food, good wine and good company will do wonders for the heart and soul. Here is some beautiful type and logo work from around the vineyard.

    Asobi Seksu

I was looking for things to do in LA. Indie Band Asobi Seksu is performing at The Troubadour tonight. Never heard them before, but I am in love with the design around the bands image. It so in sync and appropriate for there sound and their personalities. And also, I totally have a crush on Yuki Chikudate now. Check out there myspace page @ http://www.myspace.com/asobiseksu

    Fueling Fridays

If this doesn’t get your blood flowing, then I don’t know what will!  Not only does he, Ely Kim, dance 100 dances, he does so in 100 days, with 100 songs in 100 locations.  Unfortunately, he only has short edited bits of the songs, but no fear.  I’ve linked to an imeem playlist that I created inspired by him!
