The King of Spades, Ali Hassan al-Majid, known as “Chemical Ali” was sentenced to death by hanging. I always wondered who was responsible for making a deck of cards out of wanted people. I mean, I’m sure there are many other important things military personnel have to do and focus on. I looked into it and it makes so much sense!
Troops often play cards to pass the time, and seeing the names, faces and titles of the wanted Iraqis during their games will help soldiers and Marines in case they run into the wanted individuals in the field. -Navy Lt. Cmdr. Jim Brooks, a spokesman for the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Essentially, they made flash cards for the soldiers! Brilliant.
