It’s not like how it is in the history books. Large manufacturing industries get retrofitted to provide supplies for war. The American public was asked to conserve and ration for our troops. It was a different time then.
It’s easy to forget that the United States of America is in a time of war these days, two wars to be more specific. It’s difficult to see and recognize who is fighting for us. We go on with our daily lives, almost oblivious to the sacrifices that have been made. This was written by a member of the US Marines at a US military facility in Ramadi, Iraq.
America is not at war.
The Marines Corps is at war;
America is at the mall.
Pretty powerful commentary.
